Events & Ministries for Children

Bulletin Board

Two Sunday School bulletin boards greet parents at the entrance to Clay Hall. These boards contain information pertaining to our Sunday School programs and pertinent information for parents.

Parents’ Night Out

Once or twice a year members of the parish provide child care for younger children whose parents wish to enjoy a night out on the town. This special care is provided in Clay Hall. Snacks and games are provided.

Christmas Pageant

Scheduled on the Sunday closest to Christmas, the traditional story of Jesus’ birth is presented by the children of the Sunday School following the ten o’clock service.

Easter Egg Hunt

Following the 11:00 a.m. service on Easter Day the Youth Group hosts an Easter Egg Hunt on the front lawn for the younger children of the parish.

Halloween Party

Usually held the Sunday before Halloween and hosted by the Youth Group. The younger children of the parish come in costume and are treated to a variety of activities and surprises.

Mite Boxes

Mite Boxes are distributed to Sunday school children on the first Sunday in Lent and returned on Easter Day. Money collected from the children is sent as outreach to the Church in Jerusalem.

Our Godly Play program is scheduled during the school year beginning at 10:00 a.m., for children from nursery through fifth grade. Includes Christian story telling, music, and crafts. Parents volunteer as teachers at all levels. Curriculum is provided.

During the summer children can participate in the Summer of Fun! For 13 Sundays this summer during the 10 o’clock service, the children of St. Mary’s will enjoy a variety of “classes” taught by a variety of folks while our regular teachers get the summer off.
