During the stewardship fair, a number of parishioners expressed an interest in a labyrinth as a dream for the future. A preliminary exploration of this possibility was approved by the vestry and we recently had a site visit by an expert in labyrinth design and construction to our campus. This would be sited in the front lawn (currently mostly dried grass and gopher holes) and could be not only part of our congregation’s spiritual journey, but also an invitation to persons walking by and other churches to participate in an ancient sacred practice.
If you are interested in helping to explore this further, contact either Don Fennell or Kristine. A number of design possibilities and construction materials are open to discussion. We may start with a field trip to walk the labyrinth at St. Dunstan’s in Carmel Valley, which was installed in the spring of 2019.
