April 2, Palm Sunday

Gather outdoors at 10 am for our special Liturgy of the Palms, featuring a bagpiper. We will be joined by our friends from the Christian Church of Pacific Grove. At the conclusion of the brief liturgy, we will process around the church and enter for the remainder of the service. This day focuses on the conflict between the Way of Love that Jesus embodies and the religious and political powers of the world, a conflict that led to Jesus’ crucifixion in his time and remains with us today.

April 6, Maundy Thursday

Our 7 pm service remembering Jesus’ Last Supper with his friends will include communion and foot washing as we honor Jesus’ command to love one another. At the conclusion of the service, we will strip the altar and depart in silence.

April 7, Good Friday

The church will be open from noon to 3 pm and all are welcome to drop in for a moment or stay and pray or walk the stations of the cross. At 7 pm we will observe the Proper Liturgy for Good Friday, including a dramatic reading of Matthew’s Passion Gospel and the Solemn Collects in which we pray for the whole world. This service will include special music by the St. Mary’s choir.

April 9, Easter

Join us for our festive Easter service at 10 am, including the St. Mary’s choir, our new handbell choir, trumpet, and fiddle. Come a few minutes early and bring flowers if you have them to flower the outdoor cross. To begin our celebration of the resurrection, children are welcome to process with Pastor Kristine and offer the first Alleluias of the Easter season (please arrive by 9:55 if you’d like to participate). After the service, please plan to stay for coffee hour and an Easter egg hunt for the kids!

All services will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel, StMarysPG. If you are unable to come in person, we hope you will tune in!
