Church of the Wild Blue Yonder
Worship God in the beauty of holiness and the holiness of nature. St. Mary’s partners with other local churches on what we call Church of the Wild Blue Yonder. It’s a different way to worship. We immerse ourselves in nature as a spiritual practice. We have a time of gathering, read scripture, wander and share our experiences of the divine, and explore our sacramental relationship with earth and sea.
It is held the first Sunday of each month at 4pm (3pm Nov-March) between gates 3 and 4 of Asilomar Beach. Look for a blue sunshade titled Church of the Wild Blue Yonder.
A tradition before the pandemic was an annual Parish Camp held in Big Sur.
While this tradition hasn’t resumed, the photos from past camps illustrate the wonderful sense of community and the appreciation of creation at St. Mary’s!
