Dear friends in Christ,

I am writing this on the Feast of All Saints, which we will celebrate this Sunday. It is one of my favorite days because it reminds us that we are always in the company of the saints – past, present, and future. When we gather around the altar, we join with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven singing “holy, holy, holy.” What a privilege to live knowing that is the company from which we come and to which we will return, and from which we are never truly separated. It is definitely cause for celebration!

It is the time in our church year when we consider how we are taking our place in the fellowship of the saints. How are we living into God’s call to us, to love God and love our neighbors? At St. Mary’s, it is pledge season. I hope you are reflecting joyfully as you consider how you will commit your time, talent, and treasure to the life of this particular church community in the coming year. I’m excited to read your mad libs and learn what you love most about St. Mary’s.

Speaking of next year, the church begins a new liturgical year later this month! November 27 is the first Sunday in Advent. Please take a few minutes to look through our very full calendar of events and mark your own calendar to take advantage of the seasonal offerings. There is something for everyone – wreath-making, concerts, cookies, time for study and reflection, and much more – as we prepare our hearts for Christmas.

Wishing you a wonderful November, full of remembrance, thanksgiving, and joy.

Peace,

Kristine+
