On January 13, 2019, after the 9:00 service, we all gathered in Edwards Hall to learn how the
church is doing and to vote in new Vestry members and Delegates to the 2019 Convention.

Father Jeff opened with a prayer, and our outgoing Senior Warden, Jim Riedel, introduced the
Vestry, including the five outgoing members: Mickey Welsh (Junior Warden), Melinda Manlin,
Jackie Frey (in absentia), Nancy Andrews, and himself. Mickey then presented the slates and led
the voting for new members. After the votes were counted, we celebrated the following
results. The new Vestry members are Kozue Knowles, Peg Wittrock, Sharon Tiner, Jean
Blondeau, and Ray Brown (1 year). The new Delegates are Kathy Stoner, Rosemarie Axton, and
Jack Herbig. Congratulations, All!

In addition to the printed Annual Report of the church ministries, we heard five valuable
reports. Kirsten Matsumoto reported (for Kathy Stoner) on the 2018 Convention; Lynn Synsteby
explained the Finance Report and 2019 budget; Celeste Ventura updated us on the search for
our next Bishop, who will be installed January 11, 2020. Nancy Andrews told us about a timely
fundraiser, Raise the Roof, to fund a new roof over Clay Hall (see included flyer). Jim Riedel gave
his last report as Senior Warden, before introducing the new Senior Warden, Elizabeth
McCorkle, who brings support for families, among her many other strengths. Father Jeff’s
report blessed us with his commitment and compassion. He continued the analogy from his
sermon on Christ’s baptism by blowing bubbles from a 133-year-old pipe found recently under
the original foundation of the church!

After the meeting was adjourned, Celeste Ventura recorded us singing “The Church’s One
Foundation.” Check the video, below, and see for yourselves!
