WHAT WE DO: The St. Mary’s Memorial Guild assists the rector in arranging for a reception in Edwards Hall for family members of parishioners who have died and plan to hold the funeral service at St. Mary’s. Typically there are 4 to 5 receptions per year. The relief and love we provide to the bereaved at this emotional time is very satisfying to us, and much appreciated by the family who doesn’t have to think about the details for a reception.
WHAT WE NEED: We are in the process of recruiting parishioners to serve on the Guild. Some Guild members volunteer to serve as a Captain for a particular month and that is the person the rector contacts to begin organizing the reception with help from the other Guild members. Since we never know when the Memorial Guild will be needed, Captains may trade months as necessary due to their travels or other commitments. If you would be interested in only providing finger food for these receptions from time to time, we’d be very happy to put your name on that list.
