Rector’s Reflection - October 2025
One of our scriptures for this Sunday is Lamentations 3:19-26, which includes these verses: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, God’s mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” The sunrise the other day reminded me to look for God’s mercies, new every morning. God is faithful, even when we are not.
Every day, the sun rises, whether we see it or not. We may not see it because of cloud cover, but the sky still brightens. We may not see it because we’re not “morning people,” but when we awake it is a new day anyway. We may not see it because we’re too absorbed in something else, but hopefully when we do look up, we will register the new day and remember to expect God’s mercies.
Our Creator never tires of pouring love into the world in the hopes that we will turn to it, live in it, and spread it around. As we freely receive that love, may we freely give it, so others will know God’s mercies, too.
In hope,
Pastor Kristine
