Social Justice

Throughout its history, St. Mary’s has advocated for social justice, such as establishing its food pantry 60 years ago. Social justice ministries at St. Mary’s include Christian Social Concerns, COPA, I-HELP, Creation Care, and Our Little Roses. We also encourage participation in national and diocesan events and advocacy.

On the third Monday of each month at 4:30 pm via Zoom, we hold a Social Justice meeting to discuss current issues and local events. Contact Roni Portillo or Laura Cooley for more information.

In our weekly email, we highlights prayers and Action Alerts published by the Episcopal Public Policy Network. EPPN is a grassroots network of Episcopalians across the country dedicated to carrying out the Baptismal Covenant call to “strive for justice and peace” through the active ministry of public policy advocacy. Facilitated by the Office of Government Relations, this network helps influence the development of legislation and policy of the U.S. federal government on critical issues. Click here to learn more.
