The people of St. Mary’s by the Sea strive to follow Jesus by loving God, loving our neighbors, and caring for the earth.
We believe each person is uniquely called and equipped to participate in God’s work of reconciliation in the world, so we support each person’s journey of discovery through worship, prayer, music, study, reflection, and deep conversation. We work together to love our neighbors through ministries that serve others and promote justice.
We affirm, promote, and celebrate all people, regardless of sexual orientation, gender and its expression, religious background, marital status, family structure, age, mental and physical health and ability, racial and cultural identity or background, and educational and socioeconomic status. We are a loving community in which people are free to be themselves fully and without fear, and all feel valued and cared for.
On any given Sunday, you will find over 100 of us at one of our services. A small group gathers at 8:00 for a quieter service, and more of us come at 10:00 a.m. for the service with music. About as many of us are recent arrivals as are long-timers. Most of us live within a 15-minute drive of St. Mary’s. We come from many faith traditions, and have found a spiritual home here. We invite you to join us for a day, a season, or a lifetime!
